Your audio files
When you upload an audio or video file to RecToText, it is transmitted to our transcription provider solely to produce your transcript. Files are processed in memory, are never written to permanent storage, and are deleted immediately after transcription completes. We do not review, keep, or share your audio or your transcripts.
Information we collect
We do not require an account and we do not collect your name, email, or any personal profile. To enforce the daily free-usage limit, we store an anonymous counter keyed by IP address, which expires automatically. We may use privacy respecting analytics (such as Google Analytics 4) to understand aggregate site usage.
Cookies
RecToText itself does not set tracking cookies. If analytics are enabled, the analytics provider may set cookies subject to its own privacy policy.
Third-party services
Transcription is performed by the OpenAI Whisper API. Your uploaded audio is sent to OpenAI for processing under OpenAI's API data usage policies; it is not used to train models. Hosting is provided by Vercel.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
